Why in-home sessions?

Ever since I started doing more lifestyle newborn sessions, I couldn’t help wondering about doing the same thing with family sessions. After my first couple, I was IN LOVE!!! Why may you ask? I’ve always loved capturing emotion in my photos, and yes, I can still get that with an outdoor session. But there is a story to tell about each family I take photos of. In most outdoor sessions, you really don’t get the whole story. When you look back at your photos years down the road, I want you to be able to remember exactly where you were, what you were feeling, and remember your family at that point in time. That’s what in-home sessions do.

I want you to remember your daughter, how long her hair was, how much she had grown. How easily she could get caught up in a book. And what she looked like while staring into that mirror, brushing her hair.

I want you to remember your son, how funny he was, how he could get so caught up in playing with his favorite toys. And he could laugh so hard, there was no way you wouldn’t start laughing too!

And don’t you want to remember when your kids actually liked to play with each other??? I mean, some days, I really wonder if it’s true! HAHA! But you know they did, and you’ll be able to show them how sweet they were together!

My sessions are supposed to be fun, with lots of love and laughter. The kids don’t always behave like you want, and your house might not look the best, but that won’t matter.

ImageImageImageAll that will matter is that you loved each other and how much fun you had as a family, and I will capture that.ImageTo see the rest of this session, go here! http://traciyatesphotography.pass.us/loydfamily/

Valentines: Athens, Georgia Photographer

As Valentine’s Day approaches, I can’t help but looking at all the clever valentines that people have created. I mean, if you are on Pinterest (you are missing out if you are not!) you can find all kinds of ideas! Gone are the days of buying Batman cards in that little red box from Walmart. Today, moms are getting more creative! I grabbed just a few I thought were super cute! How about you, have you thought about something new that you plan to do this year?

Vday

Seniors 2012

I really have been wanting to get into doing senior sessions. I love how I can be a bit more creative, and have fun with teen girls really coming into their own. These two girls were absolutely awesome and let me drag them around to a few cool locations off the beaten path. I hope to do more sessions like this in the near future, and I hope you all enjoy them :)
